Busy but fun times in Belgium

I'll pick up this post where I ended the last one, with the visit to my grandparents, who always read the printed version of this blog. I was quite amazed to see how many paper pages I already filled since August last year.

Me and my grandparents

On Friday I was working from the offices of InBev in Jupille and visiting the InBev depot Ans. It is really interesting to finally meet the people in real life, after you have been working with them for 8 months through mail and over the phone.
On Friday evening I went to the Bye Bye dinner of Julian. Julian from Colombia came as an intern during my first year in the MC and was working at DHL until now. Of course when someone who has been around for so long is leaving, a lot of people get together.
During rest of the weekend I was staying in Brussels at Amritha's very nice new apartment. The Brussels Jazz Marathon, a free festival with more than 100 bands performing all over the city was the perfect occasion to meet many people again. The performance I enjoyed most was the one by Nalou Trio. You can find some stuff about them and listen to a few songs at http://www.myspace.com/naloutrio.

After party

The week after I have been working at InBev in Leuven, learning about some new processes which will be transferred to the Business Service Center and meeting the depot managers, the main internal clients with which my team is working.
I was kindly hosted by Vladan and Manu, who are of course also welcome in Prague if they decide to visit me. (Actually, Vladan is doing that right now, but that's content for my next post.)
In the evenings there was time for catching up with people and also for a party in the MC house, where I used to live.

The last weekend and days of my Belgian trip were spent at home and working in the InBev depot Antwerp. My dad, who has a special talent for winning in quizzes and giveaways still had a nice surprise. He had won tickets for the concert of Evanescence at Lotto Arena, Antwerp's newest concert venue. I got to go with Kelly, my sister, for a nice evening with good music. When I say that I am not speaking about the support act by The Rhones, which was possibly the worst concert I have ever seen. Luckily Evanescence did not disappoint.
